The names of all 9 heirs of Roseberry Colvin of Monroe County, Ohio, along with their spouses and marriages dates -- and in some cases, birth and death dates, -- was found listed on page 106 of Monroe County Ohio Families, published in 1992 by the Monroe Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society of Woodsfield Ohio.
The publication was found during a routine perusal of the shelf holdings of the Monroe County section of the Ohio holdings at the Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research.
When compared with the surnames of married heirs listed in the last Will and Testament of Roseberry Colvin, each married name appears identical, making the probability that the new data uncovered is likely very reliable. Unfortunately, Tina Kitlack, the researcher identified as the contributor of the article entitled "Colvin--Elliott" to the genealogy compilation where the marriages appear, indicated no sources, leaving to other researchers the task of finding the primary sources for this new data.
This task is made easier, however, with the marriage dates and surnames of the spouses. These new surnames also opens up avenues of research where it is now easier to determine lines of descent where Roseberry's heirs are concerned.
